So, hopefully, you'll know who I am from social media, but for those coming across me for the first time

Hi, I'm Michelle, aka #FunkyCelebrant®️.

So, what qualifies me to offer you this service?  

I trained as a celebrant way back in 2011 under the excellent tutelage of Terri Shanks, founder of the FPC (Fellowship of Professional Celebrants). 

Honestly, it's one of the most rewarding jobs out there, 2nd only to actually being a jobbing celebrant..because it quickly became evident that my passion for ceremony production was a vocation.

I find myself in a world full of fun and creative people, both within the industry and in my couples and families as a consequence.

I have also found myself  in demand as an influencer and go to font of some knowledge, often being asked for  an opinion or advice from colleagues, so I thought I would put years of knowledge to good use.

As you can see from my celebrant mentoring page, I am not looking at website building, social media presence or anything like that... there are far too many, and way more savvy protagonists out there already.

What I am offering are the additional basic building blocks of running a  wedding & family celebrant business. 

We all need guidance from time to time as we are striving towards the same goal, i.e. creating and delivering the perfect ceremony for our couples and the families we serve.

So... nearly fifteen years in as a practising celebrant..

Two TWIA East of England Regional Celebrant of the Year awards (2018/19).

Followed by, to my sheer delight, the amazing accolade of being crowned Celebrant of the Year in TWIA19 National Finals in London! I am now one of the judges for this most  illustrious of awards. 

I made the list and became a 'Small Business Saturday' top 100 small UK business owners in 2019 followed by the f:Entrepreneur 100 female led businesses list in 2023

In 2024 I had a double win at the Quirky Wedding Awards - Celebrant of the year and, the Quirkiest of them All !!!

As well as working as  one of the lead trainers for the FPC,  I am continuing my own learning journey too, especially in the fields of diversity and sustainability.  

By  constantly improving my professional skill set and updating my industry knowledge I  keep myself relevant.

I want to be able to help support you as you take those tentative steps along your own path of this truly rewarding adventure.

I'll provide those extra building blocks that complement your previous training, and that all important helping hand.
