Here’s just a bit about my background…
I am creative and a natural storyteller. I love working with people, have a quirky sense of humour and above all I care that ‘what I do’ works for my clients and that they receive a high quality service.
I have had a varied career in nursing; latterly as a University lecturer and Nurse Practitioner & non-medical prescriber. I have spoken at international conferences in the UK and the USA and had articles published in nursing journals. I am used to working with clients to deadlines whilst delivering a high quality service.
I was a founding director of a very successful not-for-profit Social Enterprise. Being a company director and sub-contractor to the NHS gave me an amazing insight into running a business. The company was highly regarded. We achieved CQC ‘Outstanding’ and were held as a role model to other providers in the sector.
I am a Shamanic practitioner; I have led ceremonies that are embedded in the old ways, full of spirituality, ritual and joy. As a healer, I am also a qualified Reiki Master.
I am a trained, certified Family and Funeral Celebrant and member of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants.
As someone with ‘hidden’ disabilities, I am passionate about inclusivity; equity of access, removal of barriers and discrimination for people with disabilities, their families and friends. This diversity 101 is the perfect place to start.
Solicitor, Former founder of LGBTQ Equality Weddings and Co-Founder of We Are Queer LDN.
Ky is a passionate advocate for being intentional about diversity and inclusivity and prioritising lived experience in all business projects and decisions. They bring their lived experience as a queer, non-binary person and their professional experience of advocacy, research, and community building to the LGBTQ+ module of my online diversity training course.
Prior to consulting on my new Savvy Celebrant’s course, they were busy reviewing 150+ small business websites/copy to remove assumptions and exclusive language and taking part in live Q&As for industry professionals to pick their brain on how to be more accessible to LGBTQ+ folk.
They are committed to ensuring that their approach in all their life and work is intersectional and the right voices are amplified, so if your question is outside of their experience, they will be sure to signpost you to someone better placed to offer insight, with a gentle reminder that marginalised people should always be paid for their emotional labour!
